The energy is still palpable from last Tuesday’s unforgettable Community Collaboration event at the Pearce Institute! The event brought together a fantastic group of like-minded individuals and started fostering more connections. The power of creativity and connection has truly taken us on an inspiring journey.

At the event, we introduced the GALLANT project – designed to explore local solutions aimed at addressing climate change. We also wanted to especially highlight the collaborative efforts and progress that had been achieved up to that point by our community participants. We were able to showcase photographs taken by local photographers during the first phase of GALLANT’s collaborative community research.

“The photography hasn’t just been about capturing the physical – it’s also enabled us to think creatively about the future”
Ria Dunkley

During the event participants were able to:
- Make connections with individuals interested in collaborating in the subsequent phase of community research and had the chance to explore opportunities for involvement in later stages of the project.
- Celebrate the impressive achievements of the Glasgow West-Central and Govan community photo mapping teams.
Throughout the evening, various engaging activities were lined up, including:
- A series of short talks by faciliators and GALLANT researchers,
- An enthralling Photo Display offering a local perspective on different places,
- Enjoyable reimagining activities, such as creative mapping and photo annotation,
- Discussions about the plans for the next phase of the GALLANT project, and
- Exhibitions of our interactive and illustrative photo maps of Glasgow West-Central and Govan.
The Community Collaboration event at the Pearce Institute was more than just a gathering; it was a catalyst for creativity, connection, and inspiration. Our journey together, from reuniting with familiar faces to exploring new creative horizons, reminds us of the power of what we can do at a community level.
