The Energy Co-Lab explores how energy flows through Glasgow’s communities — not just through infrastructure, but also through ideas, behaviours, and aspirations.
Using the CommuniMap app, community members can contribute photos, voice notes, and written reflections about energy in their local area. This might include anything from spotting solar panels or heat pumps, to sharing concerns about fuel poverty, or imagining how local energy could work differently.
Contributions are grouped into four key themes:
- Energy in Action – existing projects or community-led solutions
- Potential Energy Spots – opportunities for energy transition
- Energy Challenges – barriers and concerns related to energy
- Curious Observations – something interesting or unexpected you noticed and want to share
By capturing local knowledge in this way, the Energy Co-Lab is building a community map of energy awareness and ambition. It helps bring out local ideas and experiences that are often overlooked, supporting fairer and more inclusive planning for the future of energy.
We believe energy is everyone’s business — and every contribution helps build a clearer picture of Glasgow’s energy landscape.
