If you are lucky enough to have a small garden or green space, then you are also lucky enough to have a small space which will, if you look closely enough, accommodate a plethora of wildlife. From the humble red spider mite to a beautiful fox. 

I am lucky enough to have such a space with a very small pond, and I never cease to be amazed at the marvellous things that turn up. Some 70 communiMap posts will testify to the beauty and diversity of small visitors. 

Currently my small green space is buzzing with bees, hoverflies and wasps, butterflies are fluttering about, and in the evening it’s moths. 

We all hear about how important bees are to our planet, but the hoverflies, wasps, butterflies and moths are important pollinators too. Hoverflies are widely thought to be the next most important pollinator after bees. 

There are a few exceptions, but generally it is only the bees which deliberately collect nectar and pollen.
